Roxas is a well-made character with deep emotion and personality, we can understand the reason behind his action, as each aspect of his personality created very well.

-note: Roxas is a character by Disney and Square Enix, in a game titled “Kingdom Hearts”, I do not own anything at all, I just write a character analysis. all pictures used credited to their respective owner, links can be found on the bottom of the pages. Reference can also be found on the bottom of the pages-

who is Roxas?

–> Roxas is the nobody of Sora. A being born when Sora turn himself into a Heartless to save Kairi. A “nobody” should not be able to hold a keyblade, but, because he is the nobody of Sora, he can. A “nobody” should not posses a heart and cannot feel them, but because he hold a keyblade, he can feel the heart, because of that, he is quite an abnormal, an anomaly of ‘nobody’, thus, he is a very unique case, which behavior is very unexpected.

As the story progress, Roxas dealt with many bizarre events and fateful encounters with his friends, allies, enemies, and those who once is his best friend. He laugh, smile, angry, sad, and shed a tears along those events in the story. So, as the story progress, Roxas’s character develop little by little, and not so odd, changes. In some case, the changes of the character can be quite significant, says, after his memories altered, he forget his sad past and friends, and lead a fake but happy life.

For short, all aspect of personality that Roxas has ever had is the following, tough, some only occur once or rarely:

Kh_days_trio

-outgoing(13) // only at some little parts, when he lead a happy life with his friends, little chit chat and easy life

-Egotistical, Arrogant(24) // arrogant shows a lot, he always think his self is much better and stronger than many others

//egotistical as he yearn for a life of his own, a normal life, but he is not so egoist as he finally agree to join Sora, thus, gicing up his own life

-Boasting, Competing (23) // boasting and competing shows up a lot, since he loves challenges, and always want to shows that he is better than others (EXAMPLE) he proudly hanging up a trophy after winning a tournament.

-self-assured(22) //yes, he believe his choices is right, he believes in his combat ability

-self-respecting(21) //yes, he hates when others mocking him

-indifferent, shrewd (32) // he is not care with things that is not his business (especially when entering dark part of the story, when Roxas goes by himself leave all of his friend), and he is very smart. He things trough his action, calculating the risks and all, but he is quick to anger. And when he is angry, he lost all his intelligence, and focus on beating up the enemy, without knowing further risk.

-condescending, irritable (very), stern, impatient (when it’s about a question about himself) (33) //yes, he thinks he is way better fighter compared to all of his friends which most is weaker than him, yes, he is quick to angry, yes, he stands firm on his ideal and capable of opposing his friends when they cross their path (the only exception to this is that he cannot kill his friends no matter what the reason is), yes, he is very impatient, mostly when he is toyed by a question about his self, which he is don’t remember (Roxas experienced a lot of lost memory, some because since the beginning it’s not his [it’s Sora’s memory which he doesn’t have], and some others because his memory is altered)

Sora_versus_Roxas_KHII

-belligerent, angry, caustic (speak frankly) (34) //yes, when he is opposed of something, he is willing to fight for his belief, angry? yes he has a very high temper, much higher than his rationality, his anger can drive him mad enough to fight a losing fight without strategy against a much stronger enemy, caustic? yes, he speaks from his heart, and often peoples get hurt because of what he said. (EXAMPLE)He screams and keep attacking a person he hates after being mocked up, even after knowing that it is just an hologram.

-doubting (42) //yes, he always questioned the reason behind his life, and when people told him something, he will not straightly belief it

-distrustful, skeptical, being disappointed (43) //yes, he doesn’t trust his group, and he always questioned a lot of things told to him. Yes in some part of the story, he feels disappointed, he keeps wondering why something that should not happen, happened.

Roxas2

-rebelling, resentful, bitter, suspicious, resentful, unforgiving, brooding (44) //yes, he rebels against his very own organization, he is quick to angry, and very much capable of hating (something Sora lacks), his words are sharp and bitter because he speak frankly from his heart, he is suspicious of his own organization, and some of his action is also seen suspicious from his organization’s point of view, unforgiving yes, through his action it can be seen that, when he hate someone, even though his attack means nothing (it’s only the person he hates ‘s hologram), he keeps attacking it showing great resentment. He brood a lot, questioning the reason he was born, the meaning of his life, and his journey to be complete (to meet Sora, to give up his own life). (EXAMPLE)he destroy a person he hates’s computer in rage even tough he knows it is of no use, after he remember his memories.

KHCoM-Roxas

-trusting, naive (73) // in the beginning of his life (shortly after born, with no memory [Kingdom Hearts 358/2Days]), he acts stupid, very trusting and naive, but that’s what to be expected when he just born with no memory nor knowledge at all. In his early days, Roxas serve as a tools for a bad organization, something he wouldn’t know if he’s not tricked, as his true natures is good.

KHFM_Riku-Roxas

-unguarded (74) //quick to anger, lost rational sense is the factor why he is so unguarded. He is very strong and all, but when lost is temper, he will fight without strategy, meaning he will fall easy toward enemy’s trick and trap, making he is quite easy to lost, to lost a fight he shouldn’t. Despite he is smart and think his ways through, when lost his temper, he becomes so unguarded and fall easy to enemy’s trap, and thus lost the fight.

-helping, being considerate (82) //his true natures is good and nice, so he loves to help people in need. The sign of him being considerate can be seen when he tried to cheer up his friend after beating him.

Roxas_fade

-accepting(83) //when he finally accept his fate and merge with Sora

-over protective(over protecting) // he is very very very over protecting of his friends, even when he have to fight his friends, he can;t bring himself to kill them no matter what. (EXAMPLE) He worries about his friends when she is about to sleep, he angry when a person calls his friend a “creature”. He yells “stop” in a horrified manner when 2 of his friends start fighting each other. He is very sad when he heard that there is no survivor (meaning his friend is dead already), but then truly happy when he knows that his friend is still alive. He shed tears when his friends dies.

teko kenapa top down parser tidak bisa menghandle left factoring dan left recursive

Kenapa harus menghilangkan Left Recursive dan Left Factoring dalam Top Down Parsing?

Left Factoring

Left Factoring yaitu dalam sebuah aturan produksi yang memiliki ruas kiri yang sama tidak boleh ada alternatif penurunan (ruas kanan) yang diawali simbol yang sama.

contoh :

A -> αβ1 | αβ2

kita tidak tahu mau menelusuri ke αβ1 atau αβ2

tidak jelas yang mana dari 2 produksi alternatif untuk digunakan untuk menjelajah dari nonterminal A. Karena tidak  jelas, maka peraturan tidak bisa di-aplikasikan

Left Recursive

katakanlah kita punya
A -> Aa | b

Saat kita menjelajah A, kita harus pergi menelusuri A, tapi untuk melakukan itu, kita harus menjelajahi A lagi, dan untuk itu kita harus menjelajahi A lagi, dan akhirnya mengulang hingga tak terhingga.
Jadi, pada akhirnya A tidak akan ketemu, infinite looping.

Kebanyakan top-down parser tidak men-support left recursive,

like any other visual novel, the game progress by the gamer clicking the screen, reading the story of a dialogue between the characters. In some part, the game will pause, and the gamer will be given an option that alter the story, make the game have some different endings.

After the choices you made through the game, the story will then branch into focusing on a single heroine (from 3 heroine), and a conclusive ending about that heroine will be presented at the end of the game.

After reach the end of all the heroine, an additional final route will be unlocked.

gameplay at the battle- Strategy RPG Part

the display will be changed to a map of tiles.

First, you will be given a condition of victory and loses, but often it’s oblivious that you have to kill all enemies where you have to stay alive.

On the map you can see your character, the enemies (a triangle), and you can also see your status bar.

The turn based on your mobility status. The higher it is, the more often you can do action (like move, attack, skill, defend). After you finish your turn, you have to wait until your action gauge be filled again. With this method of turn, it is possible that you move several times (say 5 times) without the enemy’s turn arrived, if the enemy’s mobility status is very low that they filled their action gauge very slowly.

when it’s your character’s turn, you can move, choose where the character’s sprite facing, and finish your turn. For the scene above, you cannot attack just yet because the hero’s attack is not ranged, and it cannot reach the enemy who is distanced by 2 squares. So the only option is to finish the turn.

On the picture 3, it is the enemy’s turn, and he move to the side of the hero and launch an attack, and as you can see the hero’s health gauge is being decreased.

Please notice that after the enemy attack, their Action Gauge dropped to the very left. (It is located on the left of the timer)

And after the enemy closing in, the hero can attack using his attack named Shadow Slash. But please also notice that Shadow Slash consume Action Point by 20point, and so the hero’s action gauge decreased. After using Shadow Slash several times, soon it will be the enemy’s turn again. This is how the turn-system work. Do action, consume gauge, finish, and give the next turn to the one with most of the gauge next.

after several fighting, the hero obtain an item (bondage, to heal health) by defeating the enemy. Other than defeating, there are some other ways to obtain an item such as picking from the map.

after you win the battle, there’s a chance for your hero to level-up if the required experience gained.

the parameter to obtain a high score is: enemies defeated, your remaining hp, and the time needed to clear the battle (less better).

After that, you can start distributing points to 6 status which is hp for more health, offense for higher attack, defense for less damage taken, mobility for faster action gauge filling, healing (increase the amount hp recovered after some time passing), technique(increase effect from skill, damage, hp healed for healing skill). Also after leveling-up it is possible for the character to learn new skill.

This is still battle1, but in the future you can control up to 4 characters, with each have their specialty, their special skill, and each of them can level up too.

after the battle, it returns to the visual novel part, to continue the story

score, the story is so lovely and beautiful. You can feel the emotion of the characters, their reasoning behind each of their action. The graphic is nice for its era (2002), but what’s important is that you can catch the emotion of each of the character’s feeling, when they are angry, sad, feeling down and hopeless, when they try to cling to the most tiny bit of hope and wonder… The sound I say it is quite good, especially the opening song, it truly describe flow of the story, from your usual days into terrifying fight. The gameplay I find it is very addictive, it seems simple, but has all that it can do in that term, move, attack, def, spesial skill, action gauge which determine your turn, etc.
